System-Based Renovation.

You house is a system. All it’s parts are designed to work in concert to provide comfort, safety, and a healthy environment. But not all houses are build the same, and not all houses live up to their goals. Systems fail. Houses under perform. Renovations and remodels are an opportunity to fix what isn’t working your house, whether that’s the general aesthetic and look, or a serious and damaging leak. But a renovation done poorly can sometimes under perform if not designed well. When we look at your project we consider your space as part of a larger whole. We make sure that any renovation or remodel will perform in concert with the rest of your home. We call this a system-based approach to building. We consider how your house is performing and work with you to create a design which integrates the new space with the old, seamlessly. Finishes and beautiful features are important, but we want to make sure the base we set for them will last a lifetime.

What does System-Based Renovation looks like?

  • It all begins with a conversation. We want to hear about your renovation plans and your home. How do you use your house? What is your vision? What goals do you have? What are you looking for in a contractor? Ultimately our goal is to make a space that serves you and your family's needs and performs well. This can only happen if we listen carefully to your vision.

  • Let's walk through your space. We want to hear you talk about your house. What is working for you? What isn't? What is your ideal renovation? Then we start to look at your systems. This is an opportunity to spot any potential issues early to avoid unexpected delays and cost later in the process.

  • Once we have completed a site assessment we create a custom preliminary assessment of what we have seen. We consider your goals and provide you with a vision for your space. At this point we have a conversation about how we think your project might look, and we decide together whether or not you want to move forward.

  • Once we have decided together what your project might look like, we work to create a design. This might include a simple description of work to be completed or it might include a complete set of plans and documents. It all depends on the scope of the project. Regardless, during the design phase we refine and select the finishes you want, as well as the what the project will look like from our end. We provide you with a detailed cost analysis and our project timeline. Our goal is for you to have all the information you need to begin the project knowing exactly how the renovation will proceed.

  • Once we have established a scope of work, we begin! This is the exciting part. You get to see your space transformed into something new. However, this process isn't the end of our conversation. Renovations and remodeling is a complicated practice. While we strive to catch anything that might disrupt the workflow early in our site visit, issues arise, buried problems expose themselves! However, our goal is to stay in constant communication with you, notifying you of any major issues and working together to resolve them.
